This video shows how to do CPU Delidding. My current CPU is i7-8700K, and I use it by overclocking at 5.1GHz after delidding. I have never done delidding, and I am not an expert. However, the first attempted delidding was successful and the temperature of the CPU was lowered to about 15-25 degrees.
This screen captures shows 76 degrees as max while my CPU is working fully. Before delidding, I used to use an auto 5.0Ghz setup from the Gigabyte Bios. It usually showed the temperature at 90-100 degrees while the CPU was working in fully loaded.
Now I am so glad to use it in cooler temperatures environment even in higher GHz.
The tools used for Delidding video are:
1. Intel i7-8700K CPU
2. ROCKIT 88 – LGA 1151/1150 Delid & Relid kit
3. Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra 100% Metal Thermal Interface Material
4. ArctiClean 60ml Kit (includes 30ml ArctiClean 1 and 30ml ArctiClean 2)
5. Permatex 22072 Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, .5 oz. Tube
